Advanced Beginning Sewing, Level 2 (Saturdays)

Level 2 is the advanced beginner level and consists of six separate units, each unit accomplishing new concepts and tasks, focusing on developing the students’ knowledge of sewing and confidence in their skills. Students will develop skills in techniques like: lined bag construction, making pockets with magnetic closures, creating casings and straps, basic skirt construction, sewing with lightweight apparel fabrics like rayon, sewing elastic waistbands, hemming, and potentially using a serger.

This Level builds on the skills and techniques learned in Level 1, introducing students to 

to various aspects of sewing like garment making, bag making, patchwork, embroidery, and appliqué through a variety of fun projects such as Name Banners, Infinity Scarves, Paper-pieced Pillows, Ruby Raglan shirts, Uptown Bags Jr., Crossbody Bags, Faux Fur Vests, Embroidered Necklaces/Keychains, Sydney Shirts, Patchwork Baskets, and Cold Shoulder Dresses.

While units are designed to be completed in one session, we will work with each student to ensure that they have mastered the concepts before moving to the next lesson.

Students are provided with a copy of the lesson plan book along with any patterns / templates used for each unit to keep for reference and future use. Students may select fabrics and notions from our wide selection to personalize their projects.

Each unit is $39.00 plus materials (fabric / notions).
